How it works

We work with affiliate programs and partner networks that pay a small commission when a reader clicks a product link and then makes a qualifying purchase. The price you pay is the same as if you went to the retailer directly.

Where you'll see it

Pages with product links carry a short disclosure at the top, before any product mention, so you know before you click. Product cards link to the retailer's own page.

Our picks are independent

No retailer or brand pays to be included in our guides, and commissions don't decide which products we mention. We choose products based on the job (for example, ice melt that still works in very cold weather), and our lawn timing advice follows university extension research, which we cite on each guide. We don't publish prices because they change often, and we don't claim to have tested a product unless we say so.

Sponsors are labeled

Local businesses can sponsor a city or ZIP page. Sponsored placements are always marked as sponsored and are kept separate from our data and guidance. Sponsors don't see or change snow totals, soil temperatures or lawn timing.
